On March 1999, my parents decided that they could no longer stay together, my dad moved out and my mom would take care of my brother, my sister and me. The reason was because they just could not stand each other and used to fight everyday, no matter special occasion, happy birthdays or Christmas’ eve the last five years of their marriage were battle after battle.

After five years of constant fighting, my parents decided divorce was the best alternative. My parents agreed that my father would move out, leaving my mother responsible for myself and two siblings. It was March of 1999, I was just finishing high school; my brother and sister were furthering their education at the University.
